There were some pretty hard lessons to learn when I left the only home I had ever known when I was 16, even when that home was just as dangerous as being on the streets.
Lesson 1:
People are assholes, and if they’re not, they’re still assholes.
Lesson 2:
Never show weakness to anyone. They’ll only exploit it.
